I seriously get this at least 20 times a day. I’m just saying hello to you, I’m being polite and acknowledging you as you enter my store, I’m not trying to shove product down your throat. You can at least say hello back to me.
As much as I hate that, it’s even worse when they completely ignore your existence.
“Hi, how are you doing”
:silence:
Well, fuck you too, then.

On Christmas Eve this year, I seriously had an older woman tell me this. All I have are snakebites, and I work at Hot Topic so its to be expected. She kept telling me how I wouldn’t amount to anything because of “metal in my face”
Ugh I hate rude people, especially when I try my best to be nice to all customers.
1) that’s rude
2) if she has such a problem with piercings, what the hell is she doing in hot topic ?
So true.
How about “having a separate tumblr from your personal one, just so that you can freely post about your beliefs and political issues without concern or personal criticism”

I came across this brief discussion in Popular Mechanics a few months back and felt like sharing.
Basically this is an interview in which Bill Nye is arguing for the teaching of evolution in schools and he is discussing the importance of science education as well as the pressures modern teachers face when dealing with the subject of evolution in their classrooms.
“People get on school boards just with this agenda of not teaching evolution. The school board comes running in and beats them over the head. But denying the facts does not make them not true. And in science we’re always looking for the truth, it’s what we do.” —Bill Nye

Science Guy Bill Nye Explains Why Evolution Belongs in Science Education
For those of you who grew up watching Bill Nye, I feel like this article will make you love him all the more– at least it did for me. I was thrilled as a now grown person to come across this discussion, which shows a childhood hero supporting science with the same gusto he did over a decade earlier.
Thus Spoke Bill Nye
This is a wonderful statement…I believe it’s an excerpt from an interview he had on the subject of teaching evolution in school.

2011: The War on Women
The numbers don’t lie: anti-choice politicians in Washington, D.C. and the states attacked a woman’s right to choose with a vengeance in 2011.
What’s worse, these very same politicians are ready to resume the attacks here in Washington, D.C. and in state legislatures across the country.
If you think that it’s wrong for politicians to interfere in women’s personal, private medical decisions, please share this infographic with your friends.
